Hot Shots Sports Girls Multi-Sport Clinic

Age 3-6
This multi-sport program allows participants to try new skills and achieve goals in an environment tailored for girls. Participants are taught fundamentals as well as basic skill development in a variety of sports. Games and scrimmages encourage team play and interaction in a safe and active setting encouraging physical fitness and teamwork.
Non-Contact football clinic focuses on the basics and fundamentals of the game while also concentrating on individual skill development in a positive, spirited and safe environment. The camp is led by former Chicago Bear and Northwestern All-American Chris Martin.
Young Tigers Taekwondo
Age 6 & up
Basic techniques of Taekwondo, combined with deep breathing exercises, help children develop proper posture, concentration and coordination. Practice of proper manners helps to develop courtesy, self-esteem and self-control. Class is taught in a relaxed and fun environment. Continuing students should wear a martial arts uniform during class (white Taekwondo uniform-dobock, which can be ordered at the class). Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. Taekwondo for Adults
Age 19 & Up
This class is for beginners who want to learn traditional Taekwondo for self-defense, health, physical fitness and stress release. The instructor emphasizes practice of basic blocks, punches, kicks, stretches and deep breathing. Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. Uniforms can be purchased in class. ISKC’s karate classes offers a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules.
In our Pre-Karate classes, children develop flexibility, strength, and coordination through fun, yet disciplined, activities. This program is specifically designed for growing minds and bodies to enhance memory and agility. Watch your child's confidence blossom as their skills improve! Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor. NOTE: beginning students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met.
Children are introduced to the fundamentals of sports including basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, t-ball and other sports and group games. The program provides an opportunity for each child to develop motor skills and nurture his/her growth socially and emotionally through teamwork and good sportsmanship.
In this program, participants alternate each week between two sports. Players develop skills and fundamentals while experiencing game play in an instructional and exciting setting.
Parents are an integral part of helping their tots develop basic sports movement and motor skills. Motor skill activities focus on hand/eye and hand/foot coordination. Sports equipment and instruction are provided to help guide your child through an introduction to organized sports.
Join the Wilmette Park District staff for our Youth Basketball clinics. Coaches instruct players through a variety of age-appropriate drills to develop ball handling, shooting form, and court awareness. These skills are applied in a variety of fun games including sharks and minnows, dribble knockout and steal the bacon.
