Community Recreation Center Updates

The Community Recreation Center (CRC) is open and operating for programs.

On Thursday May 22, a sprinkler head was accidentally triggered, activating the fire alarm and fire suppression system. The building was safely evacuated. While there was no immediate danger, the sprinkler activation caused water damage, leading to the facility’s closure for the remainder of Thursday evening.

Cleanup is underway: Staff and Servpro professionals actively manage remediation efforts on-site. Despite the east side of the building experiencing significant damage, we are working diligently to minimize the impact to ongoing programs and the start of the summer camp season.

Visiting the CRC: We ask all patrons to use the primary entrance or rear entrances near the theater/gym and gymnastics doorways to access the CRC. Please adhere to all posted signage in the building for your safety and to stay informed about temporary room changes as we continue to assess and resolve the situation. We will continue to update this bulletin as more information becomes available.
