Our Wilmette Park District Tradition is back! Kids and kids at heart create holiday memories that last a lifetime as you build the ultimate “gingerbread” house! We’re excited to introduce a more sustainable, easier-to-decorate house form (please note, the house form is not edible)! Use our handmade frosting to embellish your house with candies, cookies and goodies. Participants may each make their own house or work together as a group/family.

Registration for In-Person Gingerbread Workshops
Please note the NEW registration process for in-person gingerbread workshops:
- Each attendee must register.
- During registration, select whether each individual wants their own house kit.
- One house kit per group/family required.
- Reserve your spot by Wednesday, 11/19.
- Bring your imagination and a box or tray to carry your confection home.
- Allergy Warning: Cross-contamination may occur at these buffet-style events.

Gingerbread House Take Home Kits

Bring the holiday tradition home or give the merry gift of a Gingerbread House Take-Home Kit! Choose either easy-build cardboard or real artisan gingerbread base (100% certified organic French Gingerbread made with love and care by the Nuns at St. Roger Abbey), and we’ll provide the decorations in one elegant gift package. Frosting recipe and dry ingredients included—just add liquid egg whites! Kits will be available for pick up at the Community Recreation Center front desk the same week as the Gingerbread House Workshops. Reserve your kit by Wednesday, 11/19. Real gingerbread is only recommended for teens & older due to fragility.
