As the weather warms up and more people are out enjoying our beautiful outdoor spaces, the safety of all our patrons is a top priority at the Wilmette Park District. Please take a moment to review and follow these important rules that help keep our parks welcoming and safe for everyone.
To protect pedestrians, children and wildlife, operating bicycles and motorized vehicles, including e-bikes, minibikes, electric scooters and go-carts on Wilmette Park District properties where signage prohibits their use violates Park District Ordinances. This includes:
These vehicles can create significant safety risks and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of our parks. If you enter a park area, please dismount and walk your device or park it in the appropriate designated areas.
For the safety of all park users, both human and canine, dogs are required to be leashed at all times while on public property, including all Wilmette parks and facilities. A leash:
Even the most obedient dogs can act unpredictably. A leash ensures everyone can enjoy our parks with peace of mind.
Patrons can call the Village non-emergency number at 847-256-1200 to report misuse of vehicles in the parks or dogs off-leash. If you feel that you or someone else is in danger, call 911.
